APRIL 1 & 2, 2016
“Don’t be a Fool; You can Write, You Can Publish!”
Writing and Publishing Workshop
9 AM – 4 PM
“Our aim is to demystify two goals that creative people have but are afraid to even start,” Ron Lovell, one of the presenters. “Both writing a book and getting it into print are great to have done. It is the doing that is hard.”
Lovell, a retired OSU journalism professor, journalist, and mystery writer, will talk around book writing on the first day. On day 2, Suzanne Parrott, a graphic designer, computer specialist and owner of the independent book publishing company, First Steps Publishing, will talk about self-publishing.
Book Writing – a page-by-page analysis of one of Lovell’s mystery novels detailing now and why he wrote it the way he did; general discussion of fiction writing.
Self-Publishing from editing to design to promotion. Parrott will help you to organize the process of going from raw manuscript to completed printed and digital book, in easy to digest and follow steps.
